BISS CH. ZVEZDA'S JUNO

Juno (BISS CH. Zvezda’s Juno) is the third littermate we kept out of Capella’s second litter. She was named after an asteroid. She had a severe setback to her show career when she was a year old – she tore her achille’s tendon (it’s called something else in dogs but it serves the same purpose). She spent four months on STRICT crate rest (only coming out of the crate to potty) and then another 2 months doing gradual stretching exercises so that she would be able to run and play again. While she was being walked on a leash in the front yard, she picked up whipworms (an intestinal parasite we think was left by stray dogs in our front yard) which caused extreme intestinal debilitation and weight loss. After three months of that she was down to 22 pounds and we almost gave up. She had finally tested negative for the whipworms, but they had torn her up inside so badly that her pancreas quit working. She now takes pancreatic enzymes on her food twice a day and is on a special diet. She is back up to 40 pounds and is looking good. She is a Specialty winner, a multiple Best of Breed winner and a group placer without yet earning her championship. She runs on the team in training for lead and enjoys playing in the yard.
