- We
have had Siberians since 1986
- We
show in conformation (how well each dog conforms to the AKC written
standard for the Siberian Husky, written to describe the perfect specimen
of the breed)
- We
have shown in Obedience, and put Obedience titles on several of our dogs
- We run
a recreational sled team (on a wheeled cart since we have no snow)
- We
have participated in backpacking and weight pulling with our dogs
- We
breed rarely, one litter about every 3 years, out of carefully selected
and genetically tested dogs – and we keep most of what we breed
- All
our dogs are genetically tested and cleared of inherited defects, or
altered and removed from the gene pool
- Bruce
is an AKC judge approved for Siberian Huskies
- Members
of the Siberian Husky Club of America
(Joanne serves as Chairman of the Ways & Means committee), the Siberian Husky Club of Metropolitan
Dallas (both are officers or Board members), and Nolan River Kennel
Club (have served as officers and committee chairs)
- Our
“kennel name” is Zvezda, the Russian word for
“star”. We try to name
all our dogs after things having to do with space or astronomy
- We are
located in Texas,
just South of Dallas
